Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, place, or other detail entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the search service. Potter County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may handle the request under its separate privacy policy, terms, and technical practices. Review those documents before submitting information that you do not want an outside service to receive.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email or use a contact form, the message and return details are retained as needed to read, route, and answer the request. We do not share a message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Avoid sending sensitive custody, health, payment, or identity documents. This private reference does not need them and cannot retrieve an official Potter County Jail or Pennsylvania DOC record for you.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard server, analytics, and advertising technologies may record limited technical details each time a page loads. This information helps show whether the Potter County resource works on common devices and where errors occur. The data may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- The browser name and software version
- The device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when a browser supplies one
- The date and time associated with requests
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be placed in a browser to measure visits, remember limited preferences, and understand how people move through the site. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. If they are disabled, some search, measurement, preference, or advertising functions may work differently or may not work at all.
Reasons We Use Information
Information is used only for operating and improving this private reference and the services connected to it. Typical uses include:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and stable
- Sending a search request to the selected partner tool
- Learning which Potter County release-resource pages visitors find useful
- Finding broken links, failed requests, and other technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests
Contact details are used to respond to the message that supplied them. Technical information may be reviewed in aggregate to plan maintenance and improve navigation. We do not use a contact message to create a government record or alter information held by Potter County, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, a court, BOP, or ICE.
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to Potter County Jail information, Pennsylvania court and corrections portals, federal custody tools, release-record resources, legal assistance, or third-party search services. Those destinations control their own content, data collection, security, and privacy terms. A click away from this site places the visit under the destination's policy, not this notice. Pennsylvania government record access may also be governed by the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, Act 3 of 2008, and other laws that are separate from website privacy practices.
Advertising companies may use their own cookies or comparable technology to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on the advertising partner's systems. Browser settings and the partner's own opt-out controls may offer choices about such tracking.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be made available to service providers or authorities when needed for the functions described here:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page performance
- Advertising networks that deliver and assess advertisements
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other binding legal demand
Each outside provider handles information within its role and under its own terms. A legal-order disclosure is made only when required through a valid process. Nothing in this section changes the fact that Potter County Released Inmates is privately operated and is not part of a sheriff, jail, court, or corrections agency.
Safeguarding Stored Information
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information within our control. Security is a best-effort process. No website, network, email service, or storage system connected to the internet can be promised as fully secure or immune from unauthorized access. We therefore cannot guarantee that a breach, interception, loss, or misuse will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent personal data may use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion. Once a valid request identifies information held by us, reasonable steps will be taken to remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law and the information held, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information associated with the requester
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information that no longer needs to be retained
- Stop or opt out of certain processing where that choice applies
A request may require enough information to confirm identity and locate the relevant material. These choices apply to data under this site's control. Requests about a Potter County release record, Pennsylvania court docket, PA DOC entry, or another government database must be directed to the agency that maintains it.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as technology, service providers, or practices change. An updated version takes effect when it is posted here and will carry a revised effective date. Continued use after posting means the current notice applies.
